April 27, 2018
This afternoon, Mrs. Trujillo was in the parking lot and heard a very loud noise coming from the general direction of the high school. It was a loud boom, not like a gunshot, more like an explosion. She wisely and immediately put the school on lock-down while she attempted to find out what had occurred. When she spoke to the Principal she was reassured that nothing serious had occurred and that the high school was going about it's regular day while the school police investigated. Mrs. Trujillo was told by the North Miami Police that a firework was set up. She lifted the lock-down. Either way, we took prompt measures to insure our students safety while we investigated. We will always err on the side of caution when it comes to the safety of our students. Please discuss with your children the importance of responding immediately when there is a safety drill of any kind.
