We Honor the Red, White, and Blue
1st Grade Field Trip
The First Graders will be going on a field trip to The Mountain Lake PBS station. It will take place on Friday, June 8th. The students will tour the main studio, the control rooms, experience being on camera with a teleprompter, create voice overs and use media microphones to create sound effects. This field trip connects to our Waves: Light and Sound Science Standard.

Geography Bee's
Momot's annual Geography Bees will take place in June. Fourth graders are busy learning the 50 states and their capitals, along with the state nickname and location. Fifth graders are studying 163 countries and capitals from around the world.
The 4th Grade States and Capitals Bee will be held on Tuesday, June 12th at 1pm.
The 5th Grade World Countries and Capitals Bee will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at 1:25pm.
Momot's Got Talent....Coming June 13th!
Our annual 4th and 5th grade talent show, "Momot's Got Talent!" will be held in the music room from 9:45-11:15 on June 13th.
Students that have signed up to show us their talent are invited to a dress rehearsal on June 12th from 2:35 until 4pm in the music room.
Family members are invited to watch their students perform. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Fortin.
Art Portfolios
Dear Parents of 5th graders,
Be looking for your child’s art portfolio the last two weeks of school! In art, every student at Momot Elementary has a portfolio that follows them from kindergarten through 5th grade. Most student art goes home when completed, but approximately three pieces of art each year are “Portfolio Projects” and are kept here at school in the art room.
This year’s 5th graders began their portfolios with me in 1st grade, so they will have artwork as 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
Have a restful summer, and remember to get out the drawing paper on those rainy days!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gertsch-Cochran (Mrs. GC)
