Touch Screens

Touch
A touchscreen is an electronic display that the user can control through simple touches on the screen with one or more fingers. The person using the device can use the touchscreen to react to what is displayed and to control how it is displayed by simple touches.
Capactive Touch Screens
Some things, use capacitive touch screens which can only be used by fingers or items of that sort. They use an electrical charge to pinpoint the place of contact but most touch screens use resistive touch screens, so it will respond to any touch at all by anything. these basically work when the part you touch contacts a grid underneath, kind of how a button works.

Resistive Touch screens
These two layers are held apart by spacers, and an electrical current runs through them when the screen is operational. When a user touches the screen, the two layers make contact in that spot.
