In memory of Mr. Greg Campbell
Mr. Campbell, one of our most tenured staff having taught at Davidsen for over 14 years, was loved by all who knew him. Ask anyone to describe him in one word, and the word would be “kind”. Mr. Campbell was a loving husband and father who was always quick to talk about his wife and daughters, as his love for his family was always at the forefront of his life. Greg was also a compassionate friend who was always there to listen. Many of our teachers have said Greg became their first friend when they joined the staff at Davidsen Middle School; he made sure to welcome everyone with open arms. Greg also loved to travel. He had visited just about every single Major League Baseball park, and had set foot in four different continents. Playfully (and fiercely) competitive, Mr. Campbell was a proud fan of the Steelers, the Pirates, and his home town WV Mountaineers. He also loved fantasy football, saying that he liked Draft Day more than Christmas Day! Greg had a great sense of humor, an infectious smile, and always wanted to make people happy. Mr. Campbell was always up for a silly prank or hamming it up both in and out of the classroom. (We always looked forward to his great Halloween costumes.)
Greg Campbell believed in the motto “Once a Dragon, Always a Dragon”, and lived this motto by staying in touch with colleagues and students even after they had moved on from Davidsen. He often said that he wanted to be a “franchise player” by spending his entire career at Davidsen Middle School. We’re thankful he was able to fulfill that wish, and are honored to have shared so much in his wonderful and inspiring teaching journey. Greg Campbell’s positive impact on Davidsen Middle School will forever be a rock in our foundation.
Please keep Mr. Campbell’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. The entire Dragon family mourns the passing of our dear friend and colleague.
As we carry on in our duties to educate our students, we do so with Mr. Campbell in our hearts.

The majority of Dragon Gear orders have been delivered to the school (or mailed from the vendor if that was your preference). There are some items outstanding including any dri-fit gray polos (ordered at open house or later) and hats. Both are the result of an issue that the vendor encountered with sourcing but should be resolved by next week.
