Student of the Year Semi-Finalists
Process, Eligibility and Selection Process
- 3.5 GPA for grades 3-5
- Top 25% of those who qualify with the highest test scores from 4th grade PARCC and LEAP
- Those students' teachers are asked to complete a rubric, based on leadership skills, provided by Caddo Parish Schools. We have teachers from 4th and 5th grade. The lowest score for each student is thrown out; the other scores are averaged.
- The top 5 scores from the rubric are the finalists for Student of the Year
- Those 5 students participate in interviews and complete a writing sample. The student with the highest score from his/her writing and interview is named Student of The Year.
