SHISD Mid-Week Message
Weekly Superintendent's Message for Spring Hill ISD
Dear Panther Nation
Wow! It is hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end and it’s time to start a new school year. The campuses around Spring Hill are buzzing with sounds of The Blue Brigade marching band and football camps, fall tennis, cross country and volleyball practices. The stores are also buzzing with back to school shopping.
Spring Hill ISD administration has been working hard to make sure this is going to be a great year in Spring Hill. For our students, the upcoming start of the school year brings great energy and excitement, especially for the 130 students that will make up this year’s senior class. We look forward to their leadership.
It is also a new beginning for our newest Panthers enrolling in Kindergarten. If you are a parent of a child ready to enroll in Kindergarten, please register them ASAP as teachers are already planning for their classes. All new students can register online at www.shisd.net.
The online registration process has started for all students. If you do not have access to a computer or need any assistance in the process, we will have staff ready to assist you in the high school computer lab. We will host in-person registration August 8, 9, and 10. We will be open early and late on various days to help accommodate work schedules. Below is a list of dates and times:

Many of you will notice some changes as you visit our schools. SHISD has improved security measures to help our buildings, staff, and students stay safe. You might notice some traffic pattern changes as we look for ways to keep our students safe at drop off and pick up times. SHISD has also added off-duty Longview police officers to work on our campuses during the school day.
This school year our high school students will have the opportunity to attend new career classes at the East Texas Advanced Manufacturing Academy. The Academy provides a non-traditional setting for students to develop skills necessary to enter the local workforce in jobs at a competitive salary. Students will have the opportunity to use leading-edge equipment in the fields of Precision Machining Technology
or Instrumentation and Electrical Technology. Our students in these programs will have opportunities for interaction with local industry leaders who are actively seeking new apprentices/interns.
This academy is a partnership with area schools to provide career courses currently not offered. These programs will complement the great programs we already offer such as welding and construction labs. We are very excited to let our community know that we will break ground on a new baseball/softball complex this fall that will be a great place for our families to gather and students to play next spring and for generations to come.
We are grateful for our extremely supportive community in helping Spring Hill ISD fulfill its vision and mission to be a premier school district focused on student engagement and learning. Each year countless numbers of churches, civic organizations, businesses and individuals step up to make sure our students’ needs are cared for. Whether its school supplies, clothes, or a weekend backpack full of food, we have tremendous support.
I am extremely proud to serve as superintendent of Spring Hill ISD. Thank you to Panther Nation for everything you do for the students and staff of Spring Hill. We look forward to serving your families this year and can’t wait to see you on the first day of school, August, 20th ! I would also like to invite all of Panther Nation to our Community Pep Rally at Panther Stadium on August 24 at 7: 00 pm.
With Great Pride,
-Steven Snell,
Superintendent of Schools, Spring Hill ISD
