Below, you'll find information on the standards we're covering in the following subjects:

Remote Learning Reminders
Class Meetings
Remember that all classes will take place inside of the teacher's Class Team in the Class Meeting channel.
Students Should "Join" the Meeting
Once in the Class Meetings channel, students should see there is one meeting taking place and click the Join button.
Be a Good Virtual Learner
Remember to:
- come in quietly
- mute your microphone
- raise your hand when you have a question (virtually or physically)
- participate in the learning
Pick Up Your Spirals!
Pick Up Spirals from 8am-11am or 12pm-1:30pm Daily!
PLEASE come to the Front Office area to pick up the ELA and Math Spirals π for Second Semester!
These Spirals should be picked up for ALL virtual students. Face-to-Face students have their Spirals in the classroom.
It is best to email Mr. Keyton at keytonj@fultonschools.org to make a pickup time appointment.
ππ» iReady 50 2 100 Club π»π
iReady 50 2 100 Club
Students who meet the criteria below will be invited to a celebration at the end of the month! This applies to both Face-to-Face and Remote students. Here's how you make it:
- complete at least 50 minutes in BOTH iReady Reading π and iReady Math π
- at least 2 lessons completed for the week (1 in Reading π and 1 in Math π)
- score of 100% on all lessons
iReady Wednesday Homework
Students will complete 30 min of iReady Reading π and iReady Math π each Wednesday
ALL students should aim to complete 30 min or iReady Reading and 30 min of iReady Math each Wednesday for HW.
This will help us meet grade level and schoolwide iReady goals!

- Draw and label 2 pictures that use y as i (like cry). Draw and label 2 pictures that use y as e (like candy). Send a picture π· to your teacher.
- Draw and label 2 pictures that use i-e (like dime). Send a picture π· to your teacher.
- Take your phonics quiz in the Nearpod.
ELA π
- Complete the Word Study (p. 238) and Text Dependent Questions (p. 239-240) for "Kick It, Don't Head It" by Reading A-Z.

- You can complete the work on a sheet of paper π or in your Blue ELA Spiral. Send a picture π· to your teacher.
Writing π
- Watch the following YouTube videos: Drawing a Teaching Picture, Writing a Topic Sentence, Writing Teaching Sentences, Writing a Closing Sentence
- Write a paragraph to teach two reasons why heading a soccer ball is dangerous. Be sure to include a topic sentence, teaching sentences, and a closing sentence.

This week, in English & Language Arts, students are learning to...
- read and spell words with digraph ie
- read and spell words with digraphs ea and ey
- read and spell words with y as a vowel
- read and spell words with i-e (like dime) and e-e (like concrete), where the sneaky e makes the vowel say its name
- identify the main topic and key details in a nonfiction text
- write an informative paragraph with a topic sentence, teaching sentences, and a closing sentence
What You Can Do At Home π‘
- Review Letter Names and Sound: Ask your student to draw pictures of objects that use the skills for this week. Look above β¬ for examples!
- Read Nonfiction Texts: This week, we're learning how to identify the main idea and key details from nonfiction texts. Read any nonfiction text, and see if you can tell what the text is mostly about.
