Parent/Teacher Conferences

Early dismissal at 11:50am

Our cafeteria staff has worked so hard this year to prepare & deliver breakfast and lunches for both our in-person and digital students. We appreciate them providing food for our students at school and at home.

This week, Shiloh ES got to provide something special for one of our cafeteria workers. Martha "Granny" Strickland is 96 years old, and she got to check off something on her bucket list this past week... riding a school bus for the very first time! We know there is a big smile behind that mask!

GCPS's very own Milena Fuentes, Federal Programs Specialist, was interviewed by Andres Quiñones of Univision. She did a fantastic job sharing about the district’s AKS at Home initiative. Please watch the interview in Spanish -->

AKS at Home

The AKS at Home webpage has been updated with the dates and times of the Zoom sessions. All Zoom sessions will have a Spanish Interpreter. To enhance a secure online environment for our families, each session will require registration using the Zoom meeting link. Last semester we had more than 4,000 users logged into the live Zoom sessions.

As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, our AKS at Home project provides Math and Literacy support, for grades K-5, to families so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. Scheduled Zoom Meetings are available for you to attend so you may quickly learn how you can help your child in Math and Literacy. All meetings are recorded and tools are posted in case you can't make the live session. This support is available for families to access in the format that fits them and their schedule best.

We invite our families to take advantage of AKS at Home to gain access to scheduled virtual meetings or recorded sessions to best fit your schedule, and to the parent tip sheets (in English y en Español).

Hello Shiloh Community...

Unfortunately there was a glitch in the community survey sent earlier this month. This survey has now been extended till midnight February 7. Please take a few minutes and share your thoughts. Your input is valuable!

Shiloh Community School is planning for the 2021/22 school year and we want to hear from you! What courses, classes, or seminars would you like us to offer? Until the schools open for community use after school, classes will be virtual. Would you like courses about exercise, taxes, financial planning, crafts, gardening, personal safety, getting unstuck in life, helping my child with digital learning, driver’s education, de-stressing? Please let us know by completing this short survey so we can locate the professionals to make it happen! When you finish the survey, select 'submit' and it will automatically be sent to me.
