Blackstock Families, stay connected here!
Principal's Message
Hello Blackstock Families! Here are some important reminders and announcements:
The 2nd trimester is coming to an end. Please log in and check Google Classroom with your children to view any missing or late assignments and current scores.
Please continue to screen your children for COVID symptoms before sending them to school.
New mask rules: Masks will no longer be required starting Monday, March 14. Wearing a mask, especially in indoor spaces, is still encouraged. The Corona virus is not going away anytime soon and we want our students and families safe.
Taking care of school property is an important responsibility: Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, etc. are on loan to students from the school and should be treated with respect and returned in good condition.
Students need to go directly home after school and not trespass on our neighbors property. We have had issues with our students not showing good citizenship in our community before and after school and we expect better from them.
There will be a Family life parent meeting Wednesday, March 16, where families may preview the materials that will be presented to our students.
Uniform reminders:
pants/skirts/shorts must be navy blue or khaki
Shirts must be navy blue, white, or light blue and need to have a collar.
All uniform clothing should fit properly (not too baggy or tight), be clean, and be free of distractions.
Sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets should be gray, white, navy/light blue.
Tank tops, ornate belt buckles, and clothing with large logos are not permitted.
Black clothing is not allowed.
Catchup club:
The catchup club continues to be offered at Blackstock to support all grades in catching up on their work.
6th Grade:
Before school with Ms. Leal in Tuesday’s, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:45-8:30
After school with Ms. Gonzalez on Thursdays and Fridays from 3-4.
7th and 8th Grade:
Before school with Ms. Leal in Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:45-8:30
After school with Ms. Saechao, Ms. Martinez, and Ms. Jimenez on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3-4.
- Our first 6th grade “PPPParty” (prepared, prompt, polite, productive) went very well and a large percentage of our students earned this reward! It was great to see our deserving students enjoying a special snack and some games and music out in the quad on Thursday, March 3. We are already planning April’s PPPParty and have some fun ideas to make it even better.
- The “Tardy Party” - At the beginning of each month we are looking forward to celebrating our students being on time to class. Our first Tardy Party is scheduled for 3/11, and we have some great things planned. Can’t wait to see what is in store next month.
