NWEA Testing Schedule

Starting on Monday, September 19th, all of our students will be taking our NWEA assessment in Mathematics, Reading, and Science. Please make sure that your child gets a good night rest and eats breakfast to ensure they are able to put their best foot forward on these assessments. They will take this assessment in the winter and spring seasons. This helps us to see growth in those academic areas, and it also helps us to determine placement for academic supports in their schedules.

National Suicide Prevention Week

This coming Monday, September 19th is the start of National Suicide Prevention Week. We will be participating in ensuring our students know how to ask for help if they are struggling (or knows someone who is) and need support. Please know that we have counselors and social workers ready to step in and assist if your child (or someone they know) is in need of assistance. Also, remind your child that there is a number for them on the flip side of their student ID that has the number to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline (800) 273-8255.

Here is what our Superintendent sent out about the new school stores!

There is a lot of excitement about the beginning of the school year and many schools will be hosting Spirit Days. There are two district approved vendors who can provide spirit wear. AKA Sports has been a community partner with the district for years. They provide district apparel and merchandise via their online store. Orders can be placed anytime and picked up from their Wayne location.

This year we partnered with Top Cat Sales to provide athletic and spirit wear apparel and merchandise for our students, staff, families and our community. Each school has its own page with school-specific logo merchandise. The deadline to order is October 2, 2022. Orders will be shipped about four weeks after the store closes. The next open window to purchase items through Top Cat Sales will be in November with delivery available before the holidays. Following windows will open on Feb. 1 and April 1.

This partnership also provides a fundraising opportunity for schools and groups as a portion of the proceeds from each purchase is donated back to the district. We hope you will join us in showing pride for our schools and district.
