Starting off a month of Gratitude....
- Ms. Plambeck, Mr. Alexander, and Ms. Fowlkes for leading our focused and productive reading PD this month.
- Ms. Regalado for jumping feet first in to being our TK sub. this month with a wonderful growth mind-set!
- Mr. Witte for the kind way that he wrangles and reminds us to get those FOSS boxes in the right place at the right time
- Ms. Sullivan for organizing the food drive.
- Team LLI (Ms. Yve, Ms. Erica, Ms. Eleni, and Ms. Tasha) for supporting our struggling readers. They are making great gains!
- Ms. Eva for helping Mr. Litt's class the last few months and now transitioning to Ms. Shreve's class this month to help provide extra support to classes in transition.
-Ms. Warren who has been persistently following up with our district payroll to make sure everyone gets paid (it's not an easy task!!!)
- Coach Jose for offering extra 1:1 help to a few of our students who are really benefitting from his attention and mentoring
-Ms. Yari and Ms. Schenker who have managed all the challenges of their first Fall with courage and grace
-Coach Cuny for presenting at our PTA meeting last month on SEL
-Ms. Jamilah for being a translator and a liaison to our Arabic speaking students and their families
-Mr. Wolfe and his recyclers who make sure that we try to do a small bit to take care of our planet every week
-Mr. Miller who keeps our safety patrollers on point and learning leadership every year
-Mrs. Lewis whose creativity and artistic vision makes our halls beautiful and all of our students artists
Have a gratitude?
Send to them and I will include them in the Peek next week!
MINDS (Teaching & Learning)
Do you Need More Leveled Books?
The library volunteers have leveled tons of books and can make you a pack of books if you tell them what level you need.
They are also creating packs of books for students who need books to bring home.

Report Cards- A+
The Report card comments this year were some of the best we've had. They all had very comprehensive info. for parents and gave an overview of what students are learning and enough data for parents to understand how their children are doing and what they are working on.
I noticed that most of the grade levels did shared comments. This seems like a way to make writing comments easier and more efficient for teachers (I hope that is the case.).
MLK, Jr. Oratorical
The Glenview Oratorical will be held on 12/19 this year. The OUSD District Oratorical will be held in mid-January and in order to accommodate our late return this year after the Winter Break, we will need to have our finalists selected before we go on break.
Assembly on 12/19/17 in Cafeteria
K-3. 8:45-10:15 a.m.
4-5: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
All Glenview general education classes are expected to participate.
From your Library Volunteers....
With generous donations for so many Glenview families, we are happy to announce that we have a surplus of books that we want to share with the kids. We have asked each teacher to nominate 3 students from their class and give us their reading level and interest. We will do our very best to customize the gifts for these students. The announcement was placed in each teacher's box last Friday and we asked the teachers to get back to us via the library mailbox. There will be in influx of these nominations coming in soon. We will use our closed library time to sort and prep these gifts for the students. Teachers are also welcome to these books if their class need them.
Lost and late due notices will sent out next week for all students. Please be prepared for students coming up to you with payments or replacements for lost books OR letting you know that they have returned said books.
We will be closed the week of December 18th to December 22nd. We are taking the week off to clean and update the library. We definitely welcome your help if you would like to come in that week.

HEARTS (School Climate & Community)
SEL Reminder-
And don't forget to start passing out those Tiny Toolboxes so you reach your class goal of giving 25 tiny toolboxes!
Bodies (Logistics and Organization)
Lunch Boxes and Bags
It really helps to have a lunch bin for students to store their bags/boxes in during recess. Or have students line them up against the main building.
Cafeteria Reminder
I've ordered the small sweepers and they should arrive this week.

Teacher in Charge Update
Here's the updated protocol on days I'm unavailable:
1) If there are any minor issues, these will be referred to Coach Cuny. Coach Cuny will call in Ms. Smith if it is something she has concerns about or needs more support with immediately. She can also let you know she will be waiting until I return the next day to follow up if needed.
2) Ms. Plambeck will cover Ms. Smith's class if there is an incident that requires Ms. Smith to step out of class.
I'm always available via phone or text for anything that needs admin. support.
Thanks to all of the ways in which all of you support each other on days when I'm not available! I appreciate you all.
