UTC Oxfordshire
Newsletter - 12th November 2021
Dear all,
This week's newsletter is celebrating Science and Engineering with a focus on the scientific opportunities available to our students and parents. Please see the information and opportunities below.
Thank you all for the positive parents' evenings that have taken place for all year groups. We are working hard to address the feedback received with respect to assessment schedules and the delays on these. Students in the sixth form should now be in receipt of their assessment calendars which outline deadlines for assignments. We have tried hard to ensure that any pinch points have been alleviated so that the deadlines are spread out. If there are any questions over these please contact the Head of the relevant department in the first instance.
Due to our showcase and careers Event on Thursday 18th November starting at 17:00hrs we will be finishing school at 15:00hrs on this day. Minibuses will run an hour earlier to accommodate this and students staying on site to support are welcome to order food through the department they are representing. We have a large number of employers supporting the careers aspect of the event. It's not too late to sign up! 6th Form Open Evening and Careers Fair

Children In Need
Friday November 19th will be dress down day for Children in Need. There will be a bucket on the door to collect a suggested donation of £1.00 and a variety of events going on during the day.
Student Exchange
As part of our global awareness and opportunities for students, we are proud to be a host school for STEM students visiting from overseas. This opportunity allows the visiting students to study for a semester in a British School. To enable this to happen we are on the lookout for some host families. If you are interested in being involved in this then please find out more from the information below. Students joining us will be of sixth form age.
New Health and Fitness Outerwear
Since the weather has started to get colder, we now have the opportunity for you to purchase UTC Oxfordshire branded jumpers and half zip tops for Health and Fitness. These are available from Trutex and cost £15 for a jumper or £19 for a half zip. (There is also the option to have the student's initials embroidered on the right-hand side.) They are not compulsory, however students are not permitted to wear any other outer wear during these lessons.
They will be available on the Trutex website shortly: TRUTEX - UTC Oxfordshire or you can order in the shop or over the phone 01235 211011 now
Please note that these items are not to be worn as business dress.
Summer Exam Update

All students must be available until the last date, even if their individual timetable does not have planned exams up to and including the 29th June. This date is the contingency day required by JCQ should the need arise to use it.
