Bass Hall

Students in grades 1st-6th grades visited Bass Hall during the first semester. Each year Bass Hall offers a field trip to our students where they get to see an educational program. This year students saw Ellis Island and The Nutcracker and interacted with musicians, ballet dancers, and actors. It was a wonderful cultural experience.

One Act Play

Gordon JH participated in UIL One-Act Play for the first time this year. The JH performed the play Louder, I Can't Hear You by William Gleason for District contest at Eula on November 6, 2019, and received 1st place. (District is the highest competition for JH.) All of the actors received awards including 1 Honorable Mention, 4 All-Star Cast and the Best Actress. They performed the play for the community on November 20, 2019, and did an excellent job.

Gordon HS will be performing The Midnight Caller by Horton Foote for contest this year. District contest will be on March 4th at Ranger. Advancing plays from district contest will compete at Bi-District contest on March 21st.

The Longhorn Association

The Longhorn Association is an organization on campus that we want every parent to join! This is comprised of a group of parents, grandparents, teachers, and community members that share a common goal to support the great kids of Gordon ISD. Their mission is to support both academic and athletic organizations on campus and help the district in any way possible. They are currently seeking additional memberships of elementary parents (and all parents for that matter) that are willing to volunteer in fundraising efforts, working concession stands, and other volunteer work! We want everyone to be ALL IN! Please contact Mindy Scrivner if you have any questions or email them at thelonghornassociation@gmail.com. The next meeting is February 13th at 6:00 PM in the school library.
