Week of May 9 - 13, 2016
As we approach the close of the current school year, we are actively planning and looking ahead to next year and beyond. The Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP) Team and Instructional Leadership Team met last week to finalize the 2016-2018 school improvement plan. It is an ambitious plan that will continue to drive the school forward and lead to student success. The Counseling Department met on Friday and started working on the 2016-2017 annual calendar. We will be reaching out soon to get your feedback and input on certain areas. We look forward to sharing more information as it will take the work of all faculty members to lead this work forward.
Please continue to share your photos of students engaged in learning so they can be included in the weekly McAuliffe Matters. I included a few photos from a professional development opportunity I attended last week at Roosevelt University. A former New Jersey Principal, Baruti Kafele, spoke about school leadership practices for transforming the attitudes of at-risk students. He was one of the best speakers I have ever heard - engaging, enthusiastic, thought-provoking, and reflective. I encourage you to take a look at his website and watch some of his inspirational messages posted on YouTube:
