Pumpkin seed counting
This week the kindergarten class dug out a pumpkin and counted all its 532 seeds. They were practicing counting ten and groups of ten. I was lucky to visit the next day when they were eating all 532 pumpkin seeds now roasted and salted. Yum!

The Young Peacemaker - Week 6
Week 5
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful, and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
(The big Idea) The 5A’s can resolve conflict.
(The main points)
1. The five days for resolving conflict
The 5A’s are steps that you can use to respond to your conflicts, according to the God's word.
Three principles are the foundation of the 5A’s:
Repentance: you understand that you have made a sinful choice; you’re willing to take responsibility for it; and you have a desire in your heart to change.
Confess: you admit openly, and honestly to the Lord, and to all the people you've hurt or offended, that you know your choice was sinful and wrong.
Forgiveness: you make a promise, not to hold a person's sins against him or her. In other words, you forgive, as Jesus forgives you.
To resolve a conflict between you and another person, you need to take responsibility for your choices, settle a conflict, and restore your relationship. The 5 A’s will help you do that.
You take responsibility for your choices when you use the 5A’s.
First A: Admit what you did wrong.
Second A: Apologize for how your choice affected the person.
Third, A: Accept the consequences for your choice.
Fourth: Ask for forgiveness.
Fifth A: Alter your choice in the future.
God wants you to admit 100% of your responsibility for your choices. When you offer to replace something that you broke, you are excepting the consequence of your choices. This is called making restitution.
2. Biblical principles of repentance in confession
After you’ve made a sinful choice, you need to admit, (confess) to God, and to the person you sinned against. Being sorry for getting caught is worldly sorrow and it is not a sign of repentance. Being sorry for doing wrong is Godly sorrow and is a sign of repentance. With God's help, you can alter your choices from bad to good.
