One Amazing Story: Leyden Bus Drivers
As part of the national "Love the Bus" month, Leyden recognizes the important role our bus drivers play in the lives of students. For many students, our bus drivers are the first and last Leyden adults they see each day and the impact they have is embraced by our transportation team. The bus ride is an extension of the classroom and part of the Leyden experience, and we are grateful to have our own team caring for students' safety and wellbeing.

Once again, Leyden student artists did an amazing job at the Annual Triton College High School Art Competition. Of the 175 artworks in the competition, over half were created by East and West Leyden students. Leyden students won an incredible 6 of the 8 Best in Category awards, including the Best in Show! Leyden also had 14 first place blue ribbons, 39 second place red ribbons, and 30 third place yellow ribbons.

We are so proud of the incredible work of our students at IDEAcon, the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance conference, which took place in Schaumburg last week. Over three days, our students jumped right in and shared their passions, experiences and thoughts with hundreds of educators from around the state. Notably, each day began with our students opening the keynote session with dance, spoken word and art. Then, throughout the conference, our students also presented on ‘Uplifting Student Voice and Agency for Justice and Social Change’, ‘Meeting Students’ SEL Needs’ and ‘Affinity Space Round Tables.’ They even took part in an ‘Equity in Action’ Student Playground.
