A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
We cannot believe that 2018 is here! As you sit down to make your resolutions for the year, please consider how you can make a difference for the children in our community. Whether it is a financial contribution to a specific program, volunteering in your child's classroom, helping out during a school fundraiser, or simply encouraging a student to achieve their very best, your involvement can have life-changing ramifications and help influence future generations. Opportunities to help are all around us (including in this newsletter!), and we hope you will seek out and choose a way that makes an impact!
If you haven't already connected with CEF on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, please do! We love to keep in touch! Read on to find out about what the foundation has been up to and consider volunteering for one of our upcoming events. At the Chandler Education Foundation, it is our mission to support and enhance the education of our students. We hope you will join us in making 2018 our best year yet!
Warmly,
Jen Hewitt
WOO HOO PATROL SPOTTED AROUND CUSD
And the Winner Is...
WINNER'S CHOICE CAR OR CASH RAFFLE
Way to go Chandler! We set a goal and together we surpassed it! Our goal was 5,000 tickets and 5,257 tickets were sold! Schools receive a portion of ticket sales; over $14,000 will go back to each site. Ticket sales support scholarship and grant programs for teachers and students. A $20 ticket can change your life, and many others!
Thank you to those of you who joined the excitement at Chandler Fashion Center while we drew our winners on Sunday, January 21st. Linda Thomas, a Chandler High School teacher, won our grand prize and chose a 2018 Toyota! Heidi Gass, a teacher from Frye Elementary, was our second place winner and Heidi received a Visa gift Card! Congratulations Linda and Heidi!
Thank you Big Two Toyota and Toyota Financial Services for your participation in this event!
Whether you hope to win a car or take the cash, money spent on the Winner's Choice Raffle will always make a difference. The Lifelong Learning Legacy Scholarship program is one of many that benefit from your generosity. We fuel the fire for phenomenal CUSD teachers by providing scholarships that ease the financial burden while they further their own education.
Fulton Elementary School teacher Mrs. Morris shared, "I just wanted [to express] my deepest gratitude to CEF for supporting teachers in continuing education. I was lucky enough to receive the Lifelong Learning Legacy Scholarship from CEF and am proud to say that I just finished up my Masters in December. I learned so much and am very excited to be putting my M.Ed. - Dyslexia Specialist degree to good use!"
