ICCS Mission Statement:
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear ICCS Families,
Over the past two weeks, I have had the privilege of completing formal teaching observations on our ICCS faculty. While this is part of the job of an administrator, I have to say that for this administrator it is absolutely one of the most joyful and privileged parts of the job. To get to learn from our faculty is an unbelievable treat and these observations are administrative learning experiences I greatly value.
During classroom observations at ICCS, we use the Effective Learning Environments Observation Tool (ELEOT), which is a learner-centric observation tool focused on the extent to which learners are “engaged in activities and/or demonstrate knowledge, attitudes, and/or dispositions that are conducive to effective learning.” By observing the learners' actions in regards to equitable learning, high expectations, supportive learning, active learning, progress monitoring and feedback, well-managed learning, and digital learning, learning environments can be measured and continually developed. The tool is rigorous and yet, in watching the lessons play out in grade levels ranging from PK-8th grade and in diverse content areas, ICCS learning environments have proved, to no surprise, to be extraordinary. I would particularly like to note the impressive collegiality observed teacher-to-learner, learner-to-teacher, and learner-to-learner. The learning observed was never one-sided, but rather dynamic with exceptional engagement in content. I have loved every minute of using the ELEOT in our learning environments and as I have said before, we truly have teachers that are unmatched in their craft, dedication, skill, and heart. Wow!
To all of our teachers, thank you for treating me to beautiful lessons in exceptional learning environments!
Yours in Catholic education,
Blair Moses Tadlock
ICCS Principal

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD

VIRTUE OF THE MONTH: MAGNIFICENCE
Throughout the month of March, all PK-8th Grade students are working on the virtue of magnificence, which is doing great things for God. Magnificence looks like offering to help someone if they are struggling. It sounds like, “May I help you carry that?” or “Could I show you an easier way to do this math problem?”
Dear Jesus, I know that You have given me gifts and talents, not just for me, but so that I can share them with others. I don’t want to be obnoxious, but sometimes it’s good to offer to help! Give me the courage to practice magnificence and to share my strengths with others. Amen.
