Message from Dr. Harmer

Hello Eagleville Families,

  • A reminder that the first day for school for all our K-4 students is TUESDAY, AUGUST 30th.
  • Car Rider families please send a note for the teacher on the first day of school that your child will be a car rider.
  • Car Rider placards that display last names will be sent home with your child. The placard MUST be displayed in the front car window or held up at dismissal.
Please enjoy the weekend, and we will see your children on Tuesday, August 30th.

Bus and Car Rider Backpack Tag

We highly recommend writing down your child’s bus number or if they are a car rider (Write this on the How I get Home line) and attaching it to their backpack (luggage tags work great for this, you can find them at the dollar store). This will greatly assist students at dismissal time. Many students (even fourth graders), forget their bus number by the end of their first day. If you don’t have a tag, you can make one on paper with this template.

Mindfulness Day at Eagleville September 1st

Welcome back to a new school year!

We are starting the year off with an exciting new event… Mindfulness Day on September 1st! Students will be learning many different ways to be mindful, or paying attention to what is going on in the present moment. Be sure to ask them what they experience on this day.

We will have several guest speakers including therapy dog teams and therapy bunnies. Some students may be allergic to dogs. Bunnies often do not cause an allergic reaction, but sometimes people with allergies to hay, may have a reaction if petting the bunnies. There will also be pets in aquariums that will not be touched for students with allergies or who prefer not to be around the dogs or bunnies. Weather permitting, these visits will be outside. If you have concerns about your child participating by being close to or touching a dog or bunny, please contact LShaw@methacton.org asap about your concerns. If you would like to know about the therapy dogs, please check out Comfort Caring Canines website at https://www.comfortcaringcanines.org/
