Instrument exploration night is Monday, March 6th from 4:30-6:30pm at Northbrook Middle
Students can register for band / chorus / orchestra sign up with us on Monday, or fill out their forms that Jackson Elem has.
Students are not encouraged to do both band and orchestra. We (the music teachers) ultimately want them in our program for all three years and the students who do both band and orchestra end up dropping one of our courses so we'd rather them not try both in 6th grade
Band and chorus....or orchestra and chorus are ok though.
All music classes are at least a one year commitment
Students and their parents will rent instruments from a music store
These are some fun band highlights that I forgot to mention!!
Band/Chorus students can attend the beginning of the year party. Water balloon Fight!!!!!
Band/Chorus students are invited to the annual Lions Jam (after school party)
Band/Chorus students go on a field trip at least once year, sometimes more.
Band/Chorus students are usually surrounded by the best students in the school
Band/Chorus students have lots of solo and small group performance opportunities
Band/Chorus students often make District Honor Bands/Chorus and All-state band/Chorus
Students have the opportunity to try out for the Northbrook Players their 7th grade year!
8th grade band students go to Six Flags at the end of the year.
