A Letter from Lindsey

Wow! What a year it has been! The market has been awesome! Our business is growing exponentially and we plan to help over 100 families buy or sell a home this year! It has been such a blessed year for myself and the members of my team. I am often asked why I have a team. My answer is simple. I want my clients to have the very best possible experience when they work with us. I want to get them the best results possible while making it as enjoyable and streamlined as buying or selling a home can possibly be. Quite simply, our goal is to be The Chick-Fil-A of Real estate. I'm sure you have noticed that if you have gone through their drive-through you have noticed that they can get through a very long line of people quickly, and most of the time they get your order perfect! They do that through people and systems which is how we operate as well. Currently there are 6 amazing people on our team. We are all dedicated to improving ourselves and our systems to better help you! If you ever hear of anyone needing to buy or sell real estate please give us a call or text with their information. We would love to contact them to see how we can help! What I promise you is that we will roll out the red carpet for everyone you send our way! Thank you so much for the support this year! We are so blessed to do something we love so much and get to work with awesome people like you everyday!

7 Tips To Help You Winterize Your Home

  • Dodge the draft(s)!

Drafts can waste 5% to 30% of your energy use. The draft snake is a great tool! Placed a rolled up bath towel underneath a drafty door or you could always make one that is more crafty so you don’t just have a bath towel laying around! You can use any fabric and you might want to fill them with sand or kitty litter for heft.

  • Change Furnace Filters.

It Is very important to clean or replace furnace filters once a month during the heating season. The dirty Filters restrict airflow and that causes increased energy demand. If you Consider switching to a permanent filter, it will reduce waste and hassle. Disposable fiberglass filters trap only 10 to 40% of debris. Electrostatic filters trap about 88%, and are much better at controlling bacteria, mold, viruses and pollen that can cause you to become sick!

  • Run Fans in Reverse

Many ceiling fans come with a switch that reverses the direction of the blades. Counterclockwise rotation produces a cool breeze, whenever you switch to clockwise it makes it warmer. Air pooled near the ceiling is circulated back into the living space, cutting your heating costs as much as 10%!

  • Winterize You’re A/C and water Lines

Simply drain any hoses and air conditioner pipes, and make sure you do not have excess water pooled in equipment. If you’re A/C has a water shutoff valve, go ahead and turn that off. Make sure any hoses are drained and stowed away neatly. Turn off exterior water spigots. It’s also a good idea to seal ant water leaks around the place.

  • Turn Down your Water Heater

Many water heaters are set to 140 degrees F by installers, most households do not need that much steam! You end up paying for it in dollars, and occasionally a scalding burn. Lowering the temperature to 120 degrees F (if you want to go lower you can) would reduce your water heating costs by 6% to 10%.

  • Install Storm Doors & Windows

Installing a storm door can increase energy efficiency by 45%, by sealing drafts and reducing air flow. Storm doors also offer greater flexibility for letting light and ventilation enter your home. Storm windows can make a huge difference when the cold month come around and that wind starts to blow.

  • Mind That Thermostat

Most households shell out about 50 to 70% of their energy budget on hating a cooling! Whenever you leave your home don’t forget to turn down your thermostat! For every degree you lower that thermostat during the heating season, you will save about between 1% and 3% of your heating bill. Just to make is a little easier on you, you could install a programmable thermostat! You can control them from your phone, if you forget to turn it down you could always do it from your phone! The average family will save about $180 a year with one.
