Message From The Principal, Mrs. Todd
Dear Duello Families,
Happy November! I hope that you have been enjoying the fall colors, pumpkins, apples, and crisp temperatures. We are definitely loving fall thus far. Our Fall Parties and Parade were a huge success! Thank you to our PTA Board and volunteers for the amazing 2nd Annual Duello Trunk-or-Treat. The festive trunks, food trucks, outdoor movie, and most of all the time together made for an exciting and memorable evening. Your hard work and dedication to our Duello community has not gone unnoticed!
We were so blessed to welcome over 785 families to Duello for our Parent Teacher Conferences! We continue to appreciate your partnership and support. It really does take a village!
Thank you to Lou Fusz Subaru for the generous donation of science books. The books that were donated are already being loved by our students and staff. :)
In this month where we reflect on all that we are thankful for, we continue to be thankful for our supportive Duello community. Thank you for helping us make Duello a great place for students to learn, grow, and lead … together. #WeSeeYou #WeAppreciateYou #WeValueYou
Mustang Pride,
Mrs. Todd
Notes From the Office
An Author is Coming to Duello!
We are so excited to announce that Jody Jensen Shaffer will be presenting to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. She is nominated for the Show-Me Reader Award this year. The Show-Me Readers are picture books that our librarian, Mrs. Kastner, reads to 1st - 3rd grade and they vote on their favorite. The state selects these 10 books. It is quite an honor to be nominated. With that being said, Jody will be here November 11 to present on the writing process and about her books. We are looking forward to this awesome experience!
Christmas Shoppe Information
To support this program, we will also offer fun opportunities through Gobble Gram sales. Gobble Grams will be sold from November 18-22. Gobble Grams are a fun way to send special messages to friends along with a sweet treat. More information will be coming soon.
School Counselors have already extended invitations for Christmas Shoppe to Duello families based on need. please note; all Christmas Shoppe recipients MUST register with Morning Star Church in order to participate. Duello's Upcoming Counselor Lessons
School Counselors are looking forward to visiting all classrooms during the month of November to introduce students or review the Zones of Regulation curriculum by Leah Kuypers. These lessons will be geared towards helping students gain a greater awareness of their feelings and develop skills in consciously regulating their actions, which in turn leads to increased problem solving ability and self-control. These activities will help students recognize when they are in different states, called zones and tools/strategies that they can use to maintain self-control.
Safety First!
Safety is a top priority here at school.
We have noticed cars driving fast through the parking lots.
Please be sure to use caution and slow down when entering
and leaving the parking lot.
We appreciate the help with keeping everyone safe!
Socktober 2019
Hello fellow students and parents of Duello Elementary. This school year, for Veterans Day, SPARK Club is asking you to donate new adult sized socks. These socks will be donated to Homeless Veterans. The donated socks will add points to your grade level total and at the end of the event the grade level with the most socks donated will win a special prize!!!!! Mrs. Clark will also be doing a Sockhop in Music to celebrate Socktober. Socktober will go until our Veterans Day Assembly.
Thank you for your help!!!
Celebrate Veterans Day at Duello!
The Students and Staff at Duello would like to cordially invite all Veterans to a celebration honoring you! The students have been working very hard to prepare a program dedicated to the men and women who have so bravely served and protected our country!
- Veterans will be celebrated through song, speech, and much more.
- There will be a reception of cookies and drinks immediately following each assembly. This will be a special time of fellowship for the Veterans and the students that invited them.
- We will have a photo area set up so that students will have the opportunity to take a picture with their special guest. Bring your cameras and your smilies!
