Principal's Message

Greetings Carver MS,

Thanks for your support during a very busy week at Carver MS. It was great to see many of you this week during our rising 6th grade open house. We had a great time welcoming our future Cougars to the Carver family!

As you are aware we are in the midst of one of the worst flu seasons in recent memory. Please see the message below from Nurse Natalie. Please encourage your student(s) to wash hands frequently and stay home if he/she is feeling ill.

Report cards will be distributed this Friday, February 14. Friday is also a three hour early release. Monday, February 17, 2020 is a student and staff holiday.

Thank you very much and have a great week!

GO COUGARS!

Message from Nurse Natalie

Seasonal Flu is wide-spread in VA, we have noticed on Friday 2/7/2007 an increase in students presenting with fever and flu -like symptoms at Carver middle school clinic.

Please remember students should not be in school if they have a temperature of 100 F or greater. Please keep your child home until the fever is gone for 24 hours without medication. During influenza season, children with a fever and other flu-like symptoms may be asked to stay home longer. Fever may be a sign of a more serious problem. Seek medical advice for fever lasting longer than 3 days.

The best protection against the Flu is good hand hygiene, it is not too late to get a flu shot if you have not already, avoid contact with sick people and stay home when you have a fever or feel ill.

Thank you for continuing to follow CCPS Sick Day guidelines.

Wishing you a happy and Healthy week.

CARVER MS WATCH D.O.G.S.

Carver Middle School is looking to launch our own WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) organization. This organization will be comprised of dads, grandfathers, uncles, big brothers, and any other male role models in the lives of our students. We want our WATCH D.O.G.S. to volunteer their time in our school to better enhance the learning experience for all of our students, teachers, and staff. We will take any time you have to be in our building and be an additional presence of support for our school.
