Fast Away the Old Year Passed - 2014!!!!!!!
A new year is upon us - complete with registration completed, classes started, and much general chaos. As we begin anew, we have some new challenges and some old problems to think about.
1. Very Large New Gift for Processing
2. Making sure to be respectful and courteous to each other - especially in front of other people at the front desk
3. Health Issues to Address

Dr. Mahoney's Library
We have received a huge gift. At last count we were approaching 3,000 items! Sue and Paula have been working on a plan for processing it in order for it to move smoothly without putting undue stress and strain on any one person.
As you probably know, Dr. Mahoney was a voracious reader of all kinds of books. We are very thankful for this donation!

Important
I want to emphasize once again that this word is very important in all that we do.
1. Respect each other by your actions. Offer to help each other - but only when the help is wanted.
2. Respect each other by your words.
3. Respect those who are at the desk (students, student assistants, guests in the building) by not making them uncomfortable when witnessing staff disagreements.
4. Respect those who are studying and working in the library by making sure that your voices don't get too loud. (Example: when I can hear every word of a conversation from my office, it is too loud).

Health Issues
We continue to think about Rhonda in hopes that she will soon be back with us.
Sue has also had a rough start to the new year, healthwise, and we hope that she will be feeling better. Carol B. has had a migraine - possibly from all of the dust and working in the basement.
None of us are getting any younger - let's just all try and stay as healthy and active as we can. Next thing you know, we will have celery sticks instead of donuts for staff meetings........no, we still need to embrace the good life! :-)
