Late Yearbook Orders

The PTO is accepting late yearbook orders. The extra books will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. In order to have your name put on the list, you will need to pay for the book. The price of the yearbook is $20.00, and checks should be made payable to TCE PTO. Checks will be returned if there isn't a book available. Please contact me if you are unsure if you have ordered a book.

Young Author Books

Young Author books will be sent home next Friday, May 1st. We are sharing them with other second graders next week!

Bottle Caps for Buddy Benches

Important Information For Next Week

Week A of homework!

Our next Wordly Wise Vocabulary quiz will be Friday, May1st.

Our next Words Their Way Spelling Test will be Friday, May 8th.

Monday

Study your Wordly Wise Words

Read a book of choice for the remainder of the 20 minutes.

Tuesday

Have your child cut out his/her sort and sort the words into categories like the ones we did in school. Your child should read each word aloud during this activity. Ask your child to explain to you why the words are sorted in a particular way—what does the sort reveal about spelling in general? Ask your child to sort them a second time as fast as possible.

Practice Math Fact Fluency either with flashcards or apps.

Wednesday

Study your Wordly Wise Words. The quiz is on Friday.

Read a book of choice for the remainder of the 20 minutes.

Thursday

Do a “buddy sort” with your child. Lay down a word from each category as a header and then read the rest of the words aloud. Your child must indicate where the word goes without seeing it. Lay it down and let your child move it if he or she is wrong. Repeat if your child makes more than one error.

Practice Math Fact Fluency either with flashcards or apps.
