Hello, USD!
AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Our students took a trip to the University of San Diego to learn more about the college life and encourage them to pursue higher education after high school.
FAFSA 101
As the semester comes to and end and college applications are due for our senior students, counselors are educating our students on the numerous benefits of Financial Aid in college. Encouraging our students to apply with the FAFSA widens their opportunities to afford college and further expand their education. Go Barons!

Support Groups for Fall Semester 2018
Bonita Vista High School will be launching Support Groups for Fall 2018. BVH students will have the opportunity to self-select a support group over the next few weeks through the Google link below, which will also be sent out by the administration via Jupiter Grades after Labor Day Weekend. Support groups provide a confidential place where students can share their thoughts and feelings in a safe and caring atmosphere with the goal of achieving more personal insight in order to tackle personal challenges, thus gaining more success in one’s life and in school. The purpose is to enhance coping skills, facilitate emotional well-being and social development, assist with conflict resolution, and ultimately - improve academic achievement. Groups are co-facilitated by counselors, teachers, and peer counselors. The support groups have a specific focus and offer resources for students. Groups run for six weeks, alternating between periods 2 and 6. The start date will be the last week of October and they will conclude the second week of December. Participation is entirely voluntary.

The role of the School Site Council (SSC) is to annually evaluate, monitor, and implement the school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) which sets our school plan and goals based on student data and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
