The Dystopion Times

"But again, trust be told, if you're looking for the guilty you need only look into the mirror"

V said this quote when he broadcasted his speech to all of London. He was trying to open their eyes to stand up to the government. He wanted them to realize that if they wanted to make a change about the government, they need to start by changing themselves because they are letting the government treat them like crap.

School Sonnet

Every morning my alarm gets me out of bed

Just to do the same thing I did before

Go to school and get a good job they said

Blow off your electives, and barley pass your cores

Show your work and think the same

7 hours of work and then we’re free

School no matter what, snow or rain

Horrible lunches and overpriced sweet tea

7 hours of school then 3 hours of homework

Barley getting any sleep

Eating at lunch and thinking “I think this is pork?”

Always feeling like I’m up crap’s creek

I can’t wait to graduate and get out of this prison

I can finally be free and start livin

Dystopion paragraph

We live in a dystopian society and we do not even know it. With the NSA spying on our every move on the internet, it's just like the modern day telescreen in 1984. We live in a world where like it or not, we have very little day about what goes on in the government. North Korea is almost the exact same world that is described in 1984. They are taught to hate every foreigner, they are brainwashed by propaganda that everything their government does is the right thing to do, and anything that goes against them is labeled as a traitor. We live in a world where society says there's only one way to be successful is to graduate highschool, go to college and get a job. Not going to college in this world is in heard of. When someone says they didn't attend college people automatically assume that they are not very successful. We follow the same path that millions of others take. If we do not chose that path we are looked down upon just like the members of the party looked down on the proles in 1984. In 1984, the inner party, outer party, and the proles represent the high class, middle class, and low class. The inner party has almost no voice. They are like the middle child in the family. No voice at all in what happens, and they just follow orders.

Rise Against - Hero Of War

1984 theme song

He said "Son, have you seen the world?
Well, what would you say if I said that you could?
Just carry this gun and you'll even get paid."
I said "That sounds pretty good."

Black leather boots
Spit-shined so bright
They cut off my hair but it looked alright
We marched and we sang
We all became friends
As we learned how to fight

A hero of war
Yeah that's what I'll be
And when I come home
They'll be damn proud of me
I'll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because it's a flag that I love
And a flag that I trust

I kicked in the door
I yelled my commands
The children, they cried
But I got my man
We took him away
A bag over his face
From his family and his friends

They took off his clothes
They pissed in his hands
I told them to stop
But then I joined in
We beat him with guns
And batons not just once
But again and again

A hero of war
Yeah that's what I'll be
And when I come home
They'll be damn proud of me
I'll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because it's a flag that I love
And a flag that I trust

She walked through bullets and haze
I asked her to stop
I begged her to stay
But she pressed on
So I lifted my gun
And I fired away

The shells jumped through the smoke
And into the sand
That the blood now had soaked
She collapsed with a flag in her hand
A flag white as snow

A hero of war
Is that what they see
Just medals and scars
So damn proud of me
And I brought home that flag
Now it gathers dust
But it's a flag that I love
It's the only flag I trust

He said, "Son, have you seen the world?
Well what would you say, if I said that you could?"

This song is "Hero Of War" by Rise Against
This song can be a theme song of 1984 because it represents his unconditional love for America, which could be compared to the people loving The Party and Big Brother.
In one part of the song he tortures a man because of the people with. He eventually joined in after begging them. This could be related to what the people of Oceania would do for The Party and Big Brother. When he talks about what he wore, it symbolized how everyone was the same. They wore the same clothes and acted the same.

Dystopion Trend

Derby day in Manchester, England is one of the most hostile days of the year. Citizens divided by the color of their jersey. Manchester United red and Manchester City blue fill the different sides of Manchester. Riots are expected and even a death. People obsess over these teams enough to permanently scar their bodies getting tattoos. These two sides hate each other more than the South and the North hated each other during the Civil War. The biggest argument since Xbox or PlayStation, the Red Devils and The Blues play twice a year known as the "Manchester Derby".
