Week 3 is in the books!

School is off to a great start at Danville Elementary this year! The kids have been fantastic about adhering to our Covid-19 mitigation efforts. Thank you for your assistance in making this happen. We appreciate it!

Important Info Alert!

*The weather is supposed to change dramatically this week. Please send a jacket with your child to school for outdoor recess.

*Please be reminded the doors to the buildings open at 8:00 a.m.

*School hours are 8:10 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.

*Parent Pick Up - please be reminded to remain in your cars if you pick up your child after school. We ask that you please not block the buses as they exit the circle drive.

*Fall Fast testing is underway in the areas of reading and math.

*Don't miss our weekly Bear Necessities Vlog. Watch the school Facebook page on Friday afternoons for our video update links.

*Virtual Instruction Pick Up days are Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

*Please be reminded that both breakfast and lunch are FREE for all Danville students, however if your child chooses to get seconds your account will be charged.

*If your child is sick or quarantined due to Covid for an extended period of time, he/she may keep up with schoolwork via virtual instruction. Please email your child's teacher to get log in information if that is the case.

Upcoming Events...

*Please be reminded that Wednesday, September 30th and Wednesday, October 7th are 2:00 Early Dismissals.

*Sunday, October 4th - Saturday, October 10th is Fire Prevention Week. This year's theme is "Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen".

*The first PVO meeting of the year is coming up on Tuesday, October 6th. Check the Danville PVO Facebook page for details. They are always looking for new volunteers!

*Friday, October 23rd is our next PBIS assembly for our Student of the Month award.

*The first quarter will end on Friday, November 6th.

*Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for November 10th and 12th.

Summer Reading Winners!

These students participated in the Danville Library's Summer Reading Program "Ice Cream for Reading". All of these kids read a minimum of 10 books per week during the month of July. Congratulations to these K - 6 students.


Kindergarten: Mackenzie Heckart, Darby Newberry, Finn Skifstadt and Kayla Stafford.

First Grade: Blain Dingus, Gracelyn Kleinkopf and Lucy Teel

Second Grade: Jacob Stafford

OUR DANVILLE PROUD MOMENT OF THE WEEK!

10 Danville Elementary teachers particpated in a Science Writing Hueristic grant through the University of Iowa during the summer months and will continue on several Saturdays throughout the school year. Those teachers have been awarded $280 each to purchase science supplies for their classrooms. Congratulations to Natalie Ford, Daydra Franklin, Kari Holsteen, Nikki Nedela, Shannon Walker, Teri Beckman, Rachel March, Ginger Rehman, Susie Williams and Cody Thompson.
