PTO UPDATE RE: SPRING FLING
Dear Stonegate Teachers and Staff,
The Stonegate Spring Fling is in full planning mode! This will be our spring fundraiser this year and will be Saturday, March 23 from 3-7pm. We are hoping that you and your families plan to attend this fun event!
This year we are changing our previous parents night out and silent auction to a family event with lots of fun activities and instead of the auction we will be having a raffle. One thing that we are keeping the same is the teacher and staff experiences for students to have a chance to win. These are always a HUGE hit and generally raise a lot of money so we still wanted to provide this to our families.
THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP! A successful raffle means more funds will be available for teacher and school grants for Stonegate Elementary. We are hoping that all of the teachers and staff will make some type of donation to the event. In the past, the donations have ranged from lunch with the teacher, a night of free babysitting, coupon books for the classroom, being the “teacher” for the day, or even an after-school movie party. If your grade level generally does something as a group please consider adding something individually as well. Whatever you think up will mean so much to a child and their family. The more creative the better!
Last year we had every teacher donate! Please help us make this a successful event for our school! Please fill out the google form to submit your experience. Please be very specific in your explanation. In order to make it easy for you, we will print up the auction certificate for you.
Also, if you need help coming up with an idea please reach out to Jenni Phenicie (jennibaumgartner@hotmail.com) or Trisha Benner (trisha29@hotmail.com).
***PLEASE SUBMIT ALL EXPERIENCES BY TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 2019***
Thank you so much for your efforts in helping PTO make this a successful auction!
Sincerely,
The PTO Spring Fling Committee

19-20 Supply Lists
Just to keep you all in the loop . . .
- Jen Skura has provided us (Connie/Martha) with a copy of your K-4th grade supply lists
- As we look at all five lists, should we notice any supply needs that are across the majority of your lists, we MAYBE requesting that this item/these items gets taken off and SGE will make a bulk purchase for our students.
- Also, if applicable, we will also request that you adjust the verbiage on your lists. For example, “If your last name begins A-L – please bring tissue – If your last name begins with M-Z, please bring sanitizer, instead of using boys and girls.
We will update you on any changes we'd like your grade level to make on your supply lists by mid-February.

- Finally, as a friendly reminder of our ZCS Personal Business Leave + good information to know for our newest staff, I have copied/pasted the email about personal days sent by Becky Coffman on 5/8/16. This is per our CBA - Collective Bargaining Agreement
- A. Amount – Each employee shall be entitled to be absent from work three (3) days each school year for the transaction of personal business or the conduct of personal or civic affairs. Such leaves may be used in whole or half day increments. Requests for personal business leave should be made 48 hours in advance in writing to the building principal. In cases of emergency or other similar unforeseen circumstance, requests may be made orally to both the substitute coordinator and the building principal.
- B. Employees are discouraged from using personal business leave on staff development days or to extend a school vacation. If used on a staff development day then the employee remains totally responsible for securing the learning lost from their being absent during that activity.
- C. Accumulation – If an employee does not use all of the personal business leave in a given school year, the remaining personal business leave shall be accumulated for use in later school year, except that no more than a total of two (2) days may be accumulated from earlier school years for use as personal business leave, so that the maximum total personal business leave available in any one school year is three (3) days earned during the school year and up to two (2) days accumulated from earlier school years or a total of five (5) days.
- D. Conversion to Sick Leave – Any unused personal business leave not accumulated for use in later years as personal business leave shall be added to the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
