February 20th, 2023
Good Evening Amazing Jefferson Families,
Another month is flying by here at Jefferson, and two-thirds of the year is almost complete. This Friday, February 24th, is the end of Trimester 2. As a reminder, the Jefferson School District Board of Trustees requires the following for students to meet graduation requirements:
1) The student has earned a 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale in all subjects (including electives) for their 6th, 7th & 8th-grade years. 2) (a) The student has successfully completed their Individual Education Plan (Special Education), Individualized Language Plan (English Learner Program), or a general education 504 plan. 2) (b) The student has passed the approved differential standards described in the Individualized Educational Plan, Individual Language Plan, or 504 Plan.
It is essential to start stressing these requirements as early as 5th grade to ensure their habits are instilled, and they are successful in 6th, 7th & 8th grades. If you have questions on whether your child is/is not meeting standards, please contact Mr. Strickland.
Look at our future events below, and don’t forget about our Monthly Coffee and Conversation with the Principal this Wednesday, February 22nd, at 8:30 am. Check-in at the front office to get a visitor’s pass before heading to the cafeteria.
That’s all for now. Have a great evening! GO WILDCATS!!
In Kindness,
Jason Strickland

JEFFERSON GATE TESTING ON MARCH 9th, 2023
There are three ways to qualify for GATE: Earn a qualifying score on the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT), meet the district CAASPP Score criteria, or through the teacher recommendation/portfolio process. Spring GATE Testing is open to 5th-7th graders at Jefferson who have not taken the OLSAT test in the past three years.
If you would like your child to participate in the upcoming GATE testing, please contact the school office and ask for a GATE application or click here.
