Physical Change

Definition- a change in matter that does not effect its chemical composition

Examples- ice turning in to water, paper being cut in half, a broken glass

Chemical Change

Definition- a chemical reaction; a process that changes substances in to new substances (related word: chemical reaction)

Examples- turning ingredients in to a pumpkin pie, burning wood, and digesting food

Physical Property

Definition- a characteristic of a substance that can be observed without changing the substance in to something else

Examples- its texture, its color, its size
