Big Compliments from Florida Wrestling Tournament
The Wrestling Team in a recent trip to Florida had a tough back and forth battle against Manatee HS, the host team for the tournament. The winner of the dual was going to be the tournament champion. The gym was packed, space was tight, it was loud, our kids fought their tails off and came up just short and finished 2nd in the tournament.
After that dual was over, several of the parents from Manatee, as well as 3 of the officials came over to a couple of our coaches and our kids and heaped praise after praise on our wrestlers. It wasn’t praise about how tough we were, or how good our team was, it was praise like “ your kids are the most polite wrestlers we have ever had in this gym”, “coach, your entire program is first class, your parents were great, your coaches had honor and integrity, and your kids were just great in so many ways. I just love everything about your entire program and how it runs”. There were several other comments along these same lines, and it made me very proud to be associated with North Forsyth High School and the tremendous community I get the opportunity to live in and raise my family.

NFHS Healthcare Pathway Alumni Visit
Rifle Team, Fall Heroes, Change of Command
In our recent Rifle match against North Gwinnett, NFHS fell short with a score of 1064 to 1119. Ayanna Rubio led the way for NFHS, scoring 280. Despite the outcome, Ayanna's performance is proof of our team's resilience and determination. We remain focused on continuous improvement and eagerly anticipate future opportunities.
MCJROTC laying wreaths for Fallen Heroes
On December 16th, a group of our MCJROTC cadets and family volunteers participated in laying wreaths at the Alta Vista Cemetary in Gainesville to honor fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving our country. This ceremony provided a meaningful opportunity to teach our next generation of community leaders about the immense value of freedom, while also paying respects through this symbolic act of remembrance.
As the wreaths were laid, we respectfully read aloud the names engraved on each memorial. The experience instilled deeper understanding about the courage shown by America’s veterans through various conflicts spanning decades of our history. Witnessing these youth volunteers take the time to commemorate lives lost fosters hope that such selfless sacrifices will always be remembered. This spirit of commemoration kindles inspiration to carry the torch of liberty and respect for all who defend it.
It was a privilege to guide these cadets through this ceremonial tradition. We look ahead to future opportunities that connect them to the service and sacrifice epitomized by our nation's bravest sons and daughters.
Change of Command:
The NFHS MCJROTC unit leadership changed hands on December 13th as Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Abigail Wilson relinquished command to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Seabolt. The unit thrived under the leadership of Cadet Wilson and we're excited to see what Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Seabolt will accomplish as the new Commanding Officer.
