Message to families
There are countless words, speeches and quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that are remembered and revered. In speaking about how he wished to be remembered after his death, here are some of the words he stated: “I’d like somebody to mention that day that Martin Luther King Jr. tried to give his life serving others, and I want you to say that I tried to love and serve humanity. Yes, if you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for righteousness, and all of the other shallow things will not matter. I won’t have any money to leave behind. I won’t have the fine and luxurious things of life to leave behind, but I just want to leave a committed life behind.”
Dr. King was able to impact our world and lead the charge for significant and meaningful change and continued the charge for all the right reasons. As human beings we should always look to grow and develop as we make our way through our journey. Growth and development will always involve change. As a professional educator, we should always look to grow and develop and as professional parents, we should look to do the same, and encourage our students to do the same.
The cycle of continuous learning: We should always teach our students to become lifelong learners and encourage them to develop and grow as individuals and to continue this practice as adults in their given profession, understanding that their individual and professional success will depend on their ability to adapt to a cycle of continuous learning.
Alone, I do not possess the answers that will help us to find success for each student, but TOGETHER, as a Perris Elementary Community, as an Innovative Horizons Community, WE will find the answers as We continue to develop and grow as we continue to serve our students well.
There is fantastic learning and teaching happening at our school each and every day. We will continue the fantastic learning as we continue to attain significant learning results for each and every student. Your voice is important. I am available to all parents and here to serve every parent, student and employee at our school. Contact our front office if you wish to meet with me and I do make regular home visits when needed. Let’s continue the professional conversations in order to serve our students well, to build them up and to help them catch their dreams. After all, we are Innovative.
