Last Day of School
Pass it On Mass--9:00 am
Early Dismissal--11:30 am
Today I had the pleasure of watching our kindergartners graduate and become first graders, and next week our eighth graders will graduate and prepare for the next step in their educational journeys. I hope that you will be able to join us for our Pass It On Mass on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. as we watch our eighth graders pass on the light of leadership to our seventh graders. It is truly one of the highlights of our school year and filled with emotion.
I am happy to share that Mrs. Kristie Mack will continue on our staff but in a new position. Mrs. Mack will be our new PreK teacher for the morning session. Mrs. Mack is a graduate of SPB and also completed her student teaching here several years ago. Prior to working at SPB, Mrs. Mack worked at Goddard School. We are excited to have her move into this position!
Finally, I want to thank Mrs. Beth Detzel, Mrs. Christine Fioritto, Mrs. Diana McAndrew, Mrs. Beth Mennel, and Mrs. Anne Mooney. These ladies served as our library volunteers each week, reading to our little ones, helping students select books, processing orders, and more. While Mrs. McAndrew will continue on with us next year, Mrs. Detzel, Mrs. Fioritto, Mrs. Mennel, and Mrs. Mooney have decided to step away from the library, or at least cut back a bit. Thankfully, we will still see them around volunteering in other capacities or subbing. We sincerely thank them for sharing their love for reading with us!
We have just a few more days together before the summer, and I pray that these last days are filled with fun and friendship!
Peace and blessings,
Diane M. Raguz

Congratulations, kindergarten graduates!
A Message from Mrs. Lorber
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the cards, gifts, hugs, and best wishes, as I start a new chapter in my most blessed life. Thank you for the surprises and joyful celebration of Mass together last week. More than all the memories I will forever cherish, I thank my SPB family from the youngest Preschooler to the oldest Grandparent for the love and support you have showered me with for over 28 years.
My final homework assignment is threefold and applies to the entire family…
First, that you use your talents, gifts and abilities and share those with all you meet. The more you share, the more God will bless you. Second, that you find opportunities to do things for others without being found out. And third, every once in a while, it’s OK to color outside the lines, have pancakes and Cheetos for dinner, dance in the middle of your boss’s office, fly a kite in December and make up a never ending story that has no reason or rhyme except for that you are the main character who can fly and ride dragons and be home before bedtime.
In other words…I wish you could be five forever!
With love and prayers and cherished memories of all of you, I wish you… JOY!
DRESS CODE FOR JUNE 3-5

Green Knight Breakfast
Students who were named Green Knights this school year, along with their families, were treated to a special breakfast on Wednesday. Each Green Knight was presented with a gold star with their name engraved on it. It was a great way to celebrate these special students! Congratulations to Tony Palmisano, . A special thanks to Mr. Ken DiSanto of Hillcrest Jewelers for all his help with our Green Knight Plaque and gold stars!
Power of the Pen
On Friday, May 24, 2019, Saint Paschal Baylon School’s Power of the Pen competitive writing team members travelled to The College of Wooster for the state tournament. Approximately 400 writers from 272 schools from the state of Ohio competed. The following students were proud representatives for SPB:
Eighth Graders: Macey Israel, Samantha Mailer, Clare Valenza
Seventh Grader: Lily Jarc
All of the team members received a # 1 ranking on one of their stories. Clare Valenza was recognized on stage for her regional Director’s Choice Best of Round Award. Special congrats to Samantha Mailer and Lilly Jarc for advancing to the top 54 writers in each grade level who then advanced to the Power Round of writing. The ability to conjure up a story on demand is a challenging but fulfilling one for these students, and we commend them on their creative achievements. Another wonderful year of writing!
Thank you to Mrs. Connors for her guidance this year with the team, and to Mrs. Peko for accompanying the team and judging at the state competition.
