From Mrs. Miller
Thank you to the parents that joined me for Coffee and Conversation. We had a great conversation centered around questions raised by the parents in attendance. Those that were in attendance were asked to complete a short survey. The survey is available on our website and here for any MCES parent to complete. I will collect responses through January 6th.
Please sign up for Remind 101. This is a different account than the one Mrs. Parrish created. Make sure you have joined so you do not miss important updates and reminders! See below for joining instructions.
Don't forget to spend a few minutes reading each night! Any kind of reading counts! Online texts (Achieve 3000), graphic novels, picture books, chapter books...the sky's the limit! Our goal as a school is to increase total participation by 10% the month of December! Please ask your teacher if you need a Book It December calendar. January calendars will be coming home soon!
Kindergarten registration for the 2017-2018 school year starts January 5th beginning at 9:00 a.m. The rising kindergarten student must be 5 years old by August 31, 2017. To register your rising kindergarten student please bring the following items: certified birth certificate, proof or residence (water/electric bill), parent ID, and immunization record. You may print the registration forms from Kindergarten Registration Forms to maximize your time during the registration process.
Track change request forms will be available in the front office through January 31, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.
The school will be closed December 22-January 2. We will see Track 1, 2, and 3 students on January 3rd! I wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season!
Thank you,
Mrs. Miller
Remind 101 Instructions:
President's Message:
Happy Holidays to Everyone!
As we all prepare for our holiday break, Track 1 don't forget to pick up your Square 1 orders in the Front Office by Wednesday. Thank you to Becky Lewis for all her effort and hard work on coordinating another great program sponsored by the PTA.
Also, the teacher's lounge is in desperate need for a microwave. Unfortunately, one of them stopped working and the teachers are sharing one microwave, which is making for heating up their lunches time consuming. If you have a new or gently, used microwave you would like to donate, they would be grateful and appreciative. Feel free to contact me at mcespresident@gmail.com Thank you in advance for your help!
We are looking forward to some very active months ahead in PTA. Be on the look out for events like, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Event, Teacher Appreciation (in February this year:-) Boosterthon and Carnival, to name a few:-)
We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!
Happy 2017!
Heather Lynch
PTA President
The Silent Partner Program
Mrs. Fillard, the school counselor, and Mrs. Lesniak, the school social worker, are asking for volunteers for a new program.
The Silent Partner Program has been successful at many other schools, and we would like to start this program at MCES. The purpose of the program is to help any MCES families who are experiencing a school-related need. This program may be used to secured funds for field trip money or other school items, or to gather donations of clothing, shoes, etc. By becoming a silent partner, you may help as much or as little as you wish. Mrs. Fillard will send an email to all "silent partners" when there is a need, and you can choose if you would like to donate at that time. If you would like to be part of the Silent Partner program, please email Mrs. Fillard with your name and the best email address for contact. Thank you!
Donations needed
- Mrs. Fillard has pressing needs for students. If you can help, please send individual snacks, plastic folders and marble composition notebooks to her office. Thank you!
- The Giving Garden is in need of some chicken wire, as well as Black Cow soil or cow manure or compost. If you have any you can spare, please drop off to the garden. Thank you!
