AVA Family Update
March 3, 2023
Good morning AVA Families,
There is a normal schedule next week as pictured below.
We have MCAS ELA retesting next week and the small group of students required to report have already been notified individually. I will notify a larger group of students required to come in the following week for Math retests early next week.
At the end of this month, every 10th grader who has yet to take the ELA MCAS test will be required to report for testing, and I will also remind this group individually next week.
Lastly, trimester two ends on March 17th. For the yearlong classes, this will function as a progress report. For classes that were the first two trimesters, or just a single trimester two course, these will be final grades. I'll publish the exact dates grade close next week, but getting in work sooner rather than later is always helpful.
The usual guidance and community updates are below and I thank you for your time.

Guidance Update
Grades 9-12 - NCAA Registration
This is a kind reminder to students and families who are interested in participating in collegiate sports to register online with the NCAA. Although you may register even after high school graduation, we recommend doing so while still enrolled in high school to ensure a smoother transfer of school records and information. AVA's CEEB code for NCAA registration is: 220067.

Seniors
AHS General Scholarship - Once again, all AVA seniors are strongly encouraged to complete the AHS General Scholarship Googleform HERE. Students must be logged into their Attleborops.net email first. SECOND NOTICE: Important Information about MassHealth and SNAP Benefits:
In response to the COVID-19, MassHealth put protections in place that prevented members’ MassHealth coverage ending, and qualifying Massachusetts households began to receive extra SNAP at the beginning of each month to buy food. Due to recent action by the federal government, these protections and extra benefits will be ending soon. Please visit the Welcome Center website for more information on what you can do now.
