2018-19: Leading the Herd (1)
Welcome Back, Longhorns!
Please read all the way through to the end of this newsletter. It contains an exciting piece of information just for you!
We can't wait to see your smiling faces at Meet the Teacher this week! Remember that if you will be walking your child to class on the first day, you will want to drop your license off so we can run your V-soft sticker while you walk around. Pick up your tag on the way out, and you will be able to skip the long line on Day 1!
Walking your children back:
Any/Every Day - All parents may walk to the Hug&Kiss zone in the foyer, and children will continue past the hallway doors on their own (We always have staff in the hallways to help!)
Day 1 (August 21) - All grades; parents must have visitor sticker
Days 1-3 (August 21, 22, 23) PK and Kdg; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker
Days 1-5 (August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27) PK; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker
PK/K - No lunch visitors during Week 1, please
Thank you! This helps us ensure that staff attention is focused on children and safe protocols are in practice.
Meet Your PK Teacher: Mrs. Kennedy, room 106
Hello my AMAZING Pre-K class. My name is Mrs. Kennedy and I am so excited about being your teacher this year. I am looking forward to a year of learning, giggles and fun adventures!
I have been teaching for 28 years and I LOVE being a teacher. I graduated from Sam Houston State University and I am so excited to be a Longhorn at Lone Star Elementary. I have three beautiful children. Ashley is attending the University of Oklahoma. Cole will be attending the Firefighter Academy to become a firefighter and Emiley will be attending Lake Creek High School.
When I am not teaching or planning AWESOME things for us to do in the classroom I enjoy reading, shopping, going to the beach and sporting events. I also love spending time with my family and friends. My husband is Coach Pat Kennedy from Lake Creek High School and is a football coach. You will see me in the football stadium cheering on the Lake Creek Lions this FALL. I hope to see you there.
We are going to have a great year! We will sing silly songs and read funny stories, make projects and learn many wonderful new things. You will meet many new friends who will be waiting to work and play with you each day. I can’t wait for the fun to begin.
