KFHS Eagle Judith Dano Shines Spotlight on AP Exams!
On Friday, February 15, Judith Dano, Klein Forest High School Science Department Chair and AP Chemistry Teacher, presented with a national panel of educational professionals at the South Meets Southwest Regional Forum in San Antonio, Texas with College Board Advanced Placement (AP)Executive Director Edward Biederman. She shared her students' thoughts and experiences with the AP Exam Ordering process. She spoke eloquently about the students' anxiety and concerns about making their decision early. She fielded questions from the audience and described the ease of use regarding the process for ordering, but most importantly how easy it was for her students.
Judith was selected after the College Board visited Klein Forest to film an informational video to gain further insight from school community stakeholders about the pilot program which has been implemented at all high schools in Klein. The video is featured on the College Board's AP Central national website regarding the new changes in AP.
Judith has also been invited to present again with the panel in Kentucky in September. Please check out the video featuring the Klein Forest High School AP Family!

GT Advocate, Hassler Elementary
At Hassler we have tapped into our wonderful parent volunteers to serve as mentors to our GT students. These parents have graciously donated their time to assist classroom teachers during our enrichment hour known as Target Time at Hassler.
“It has been a fulfilling and rewarding experience to help bring the students’ creative ideas to life,” states Angela Zhang.
The mentors are able to provide a different perspective, unique skill sets, and assistance to classroom teachers in giving continuous feedback. Susan Ng shared, “We are happy to provide guidance and make sure the projects are progressing at a good pace.”
The students look forward to the weekly visits. Caroline M. claimed,” They actually care about us. We are so happy that they are willing to take time out for us when they could be doing other things with their day!”
Samuel M was excited to learn how to import a graph through the assistance of Chiayi Liu. These parents are really making a difference as they work hand in hand; heart in heart with Hassler GT teachers.
Best of Luck to All Destination Imagination Teams!
