2022 Landrum Science Fair

After school meetings for the 2022 Landrum Science Fair have begun on Tuesdays in Mr. Anzelmo’s room (355) from 1:50-2:50.

What do I need to do to participate in the Science Fair?

  1. Come up with a project idea.
  2. Attend Science Fair meetings.
  3. Complete background research and create a bibliography.
  4. Develop a research plan.
  5. Complete all required paperwork and get project approval.
  6. Conduct experiment and compete in the Science Fair Friday, November 18th .

Attendance at the meetings is required for project approval and entry into the Science Fair. See your science teacher or Mr. Anzelmo for more information.

Attendance is not taken over the phone. You do not need to call the office to report your student absent.

If your student is absent from school, please provide a note from a parent or guardian within forty-eight (48) hours of returning to school stating the cause of the absence. If your student missed school due to an appointment, a note from the provider must be turned in within forty-eight (48) hours of returning to school. Failure to provide a note will result in an automatic unexcused absence.

Notes can be turned in at the Front Office or emailed to

However, the fact that the student provides a note does not require the school administration to excuse the absence. The principal or designee will decide whether the absence meets the criteria for an excused absence, and that decision will be final.

After fifteen (15) days of absence, whether excused or unexcused, a student must present verification from a licensed doctor for all subsequent absences due to illness.

You do not need to fill out a new application each year. School access lasts for 3 years and is good for any school in the District. When an applicant is nearing 3 years, please contact the school and we can assist you. You may also check your status by contacting the school at 547-8410. PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE A NEW APPLICATION UNLESS YOUR INFORMATION HAS CHANGED (address, phone number, email, etc).

The first few weeks of school brought all kinds of activity in the Learning Commons. We checked out textbooks to all students. We did Learning Commons orientation for all students. Fun orientation lock boxes were done by all the 7th and 8th grade students. Library books were checked out. We will finally have open access for all students starting Tuesday. Looking forward to lots of activity in the Learning Commons this school year.

The Landrum Learning Commons is looking for two parents and one community member interested in serving on the school Media Advisory Committee for the 2022-2023 school year. The committee will consult as a team with opportunities to provide feedback on our school’s library book collection development and work toward helping the Learning Commons meet its yearly collection development goals. If you are interested, please send an email to Ms. Gill at with your name, email, your student name (if a parent) and student grade no later than Wednesday, September 7th. Names will go to Mr. Harris for final consideration.

PICTURE DAYS will be September 13th and 14th during Social Studies classes. There will be a make-up day (TBD) later in the fall.

All parents and community members are welcome to attend our School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings. The SAC serves our school in many ways. We are a body of faculty, staff, business partners, and parent volunteers who help our principal in formulating and evaluating our School Improvement Plan, conducting annual surveys to solicit input from stakeholders, and disbursing recognition funds the school earns. All meetings are open to the public, regardless of whether you serve on the council.

We hold eight meetings a year, third Thursdays at 2:15 p.m., in the Learning Commons. The first meeting will be held on September 15 . For more information see the SAC page on Landrum’s website or contact Chair Jennifer Myer at
