Mrs. Drudy's Remote Learning
April 9, 2020
LES Remote Learning Plan
LES will do remote learning for 3 days a week starting April 13th and ending on May 15th. This remote learning will occur Tuesday through Thursday. Students will work on remote learning assignments on these days similar to what we have done for e-learning. These assignments will be e-mailed to you via this format (Smore Newsletter). If Internet access is an issue for you, then please stick to the paper packets that you pick up at the school.
I will be doing frequent “live” sessions. However, as I've done in the past, these “live” sessions will have been previously recorded. I am doing this to encourage interaction, but I completely understand why tuning in is not always an option for those with limited data/Internet.
Remote learning packets will be made for a 5 week period that will occur from April 13th until May 15th. Copies of the packet will be posted on the school website by Monday April 13th by 10 am. Hard copies of the learning packets will be available for pickup also on April 13th from 10 am-12 pm. Packets will be available for pickup at the elementary entrances during this time. I will be e-mailing the daily agendas just as I've always done. We encourage everyone to try and access materials online as this is the safest option. This may be printing materials or completing problems or questions on a separate sheet of paper if possible.
We are working on a plan for returning, in a safe manner, the E-learning packets that were completed prior to Spring Break. Please keep these materials until we are able to find a way for safe return.
Please remember that I am here for you. I will be available on Monday through Friday from 10 am-2 pm via email for questions from students and parents. Should I become sick and/or unavailable, the corporation will communicate with you how we will address parent and student communication. Tech support will also be available from 10 am-2 pm Monday-Friday.
Specials area teachers will use BrainPop Jr. as they have in the past for e-Learning. This will continue to be optional for students to complete.
Students with an IEP, 504, or ILP will be provided learning opportunities as well along with
coordinating with classroom assignments. Title 1 students needing help with classroom work can contact Mrs. Rothgeb at sue.rothgeb@uc.k12.in.us
To monitor student progress, parents are asked to take a picture of the daily assignment agenda and send it to me weekly. This picture can be sent via email. Assignments will be given specific feedback that includes the grade of “Pass” or “Needs Improvement” for all grade levels.
