Like a hot air balloon, warm air is what causes it ascend. Cold air causes it to descend. This is an example of convection. Convection is the transfer of heat through the movement of fluids. This is one of the tree ways of heat transfer. Such as a pocket of warm air will rise, according to its amount of density. As it cools it will begin to descend. This is an example of convection.
The warm air form the fire in the balloon makes the balloon rise. When the flame is turned off, it will descend.
The hot water in the pot making it bubble and heat up is convection.
The warm air emitted from the machine rises, as it cools it descends.
