Secret and Surprising Feats

Hillary Clinton: The Most Known and Powerful Woman in Politics

Hillary Clinton has been known and admired for 20 years. She has shown that women can can deal with official power in many ways and use it as effectively or sometimes better than a man. She practically married into the Government by marring Governor Bill Clinton. She has only one girl named Chelsea. Hillary was made first lady from 1993 to 2001. She played a big role for her husband during her husband's presidency to keep the promise of "two for the price of one." This made Hillary Clinton was more referred as a "co-president."

Then Bill Clinton made her the head of the Task Force on National Health Care Reform. She was very unenthusiastic about the idea but did it any way. She worked to pass the Clinton Health Care program. It made companies give health coverage to their employees. Some protesters got violent and she was forced to wear a bullet proof vest. The plan did not get enough supporters to get into the House or the State though.

Hillary Clinton has even made a fashion statement. Her styles have been focused on by different parts of the public. Even though most times she wears very formal outfits, such as suits. There have been websites made for Clinton's different hair styles and she has even been on the cover of Vogue magazine.

Hillary Clinton has been instrumental in keeping the balance of the power between men and women equal.

Another Important Political Woman

Condoleezza Rice is also a very important political woman. In 2001 through 2005 she was the National Security Advisor. Rice was the first woman to receive this position She was nicknamed "Warrior Princess" because of her nerve and nice manners. She protected the country from terrorism, threats of war, and Iraq. When called to an emergency meeting called on September 11 2001 about terrorist attacks rice was asked what we should do about it. She suggested a new outline of the national security policy. It included missile protection to keep the terrorist attacks under control, this made Rice also the first African American and National Security Advior to testify on the matters of policy.

On November 16, 2004 , Condoleezza was appointed to a higher position by President Bush. She was nominated to be Secretary of State. She had the most votes against for a Secretary of State since 1825, when she remade the department her goal was to "work with our many partners around the world...building and sustaining democratic, well-governed states that will respond to the needs of their people and conduct themselves responsibly in the international system."

In the 1700's and 1800's it would have been ridiculous to have even a woman, let alone a African American, in politics. Now in 2013 women play important roles in today's society. Even though women still stay home to watch over their children, they do not have slaves to do it for they and they are not controlled by their husbands.
