April 21st and 22nd

Missouri Assessment Program

6th graders will be taking the Mathematics assessments on Monday the 21st and the English Language Arts assessments on Tuesday the 22nd.

These assessments are designed to see if students in Missouri are meeting the Show-Me Standards.

The assessments are made up of multiple-choice, machine-score items, as well as "constructed response" items. These items require students to supply (rather than select) an appropriate response.

Helpful Tips for Parents to Prepare Students for the MAP Test

  1. Be aware of the testing schedule.
  2. Be certain that your child has had adequate rest (this may mean getting them to bed at an earlier time).
  3. Be on time for school.
  4. Avoid scheduling appointments that can be done at a later date.
  5. Dress your child in layered clothing. This way, the child may add clothing to get warmer or remove some clothing to be cooler.
  6. Make sure your child has a book to read when the test is complete.
  7. Be certain that your child has two or more number two pencils (not mechanical) and an eraser.
  8. Have a positive attitude!
