Coming from a wealthy family, Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. He married Anne Hathaway at the early age of 18. They had three children together named Susanna, Hamnet, and Judith.

Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Antony & Cleopatra, and A Midsummer Nights Dream are just a few plays that made Shakespeare famous. Probably the most famous play is Romeo and Juliet because of all the reenactments that you see on television shows or movies. He has written an impressing number of 36 plays and 154 sonnets/poems.
Shakespeare accomplishments
Shakespeare is not only known for his successful plays. He was the leading poet in Chamberlain's Men playing company and a successful actor playing mainly secondary roles. In 1599 he became joint owner of the Globe Theatre where most of his plays were performed at.
Changing the English Language
Shakespeare has become a game changer in the English Literature. He has invented words like bedroom, puke, assassination, and bump. Also Shakespeare has become so quotable like, "To be, or not to be? That is the question," or, "Laugh it off."
