Kissing Disease

Infectious mononucleosis (mono) is often called the kissing disease. This virus is transmitted through saliva. So you can get it through kissing, but you can also get it through cough, sneeze, or by sharing food or a glass. But, this disease isn't as contagious as the common cold."It's important to be careful of certain complications such as an enlarged spleen. Rest and adequate fluids are key to recovery."

Signs & Symptoms

Some signs and symptoms you should look for if you think you have mono include,

-Fatigue

-Sore throat

-Fever

-Swollen lymph nodes in your neck

-Swollen tonsils

-Headache

-Skin rash

-Soft or swollen spleen

If you have mono and you are no experiencing all of these symptoms don't freak out because you will not have all of them.

Treatments

Get a good night’s rest (Plenty of rest) Drink plenty of fluids and good nutrition since it;s a virus there is no antibiotic to cure it but if you're throat really hurts then you could get medicine for strep throat and that might help your symptoms.
