Character Counts
Our student Character Trait of the month of November is Citizenship.
Students that exhibit great citizenship are doing their share to make our school and community a better place, while cooperating, staying informed and voting. Those students are being good neighbors and always obeying the laws and rules set. Our student citizens always respect authority and protect their environment.
Our IB Learner Profile Attribute is Risk-Takers!
Our Middle Years Programme Risk-takers are individuals who approach unfamiliar situations and uncertainty with courage and forethought, and have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas and strategies for the task in hand. Those risk-taking students are brave and articulate in defending their beliefs.
Student Challenge
Q2 clubs began on October 29 and will end on Friday December 14. Dismissal for all students attending clubs is from the east side of our building. Service Hour Information
As you know, parental involvement plays a vital role in a student’s academic success. Parent participation demonstrates to your child that you believe school is important. By participating in school activities whether at home or in the classroom, many studies have shown that parent involvement increases learning gains, supports respectful classroom behavior, improves communication between the teacher and parents, and fosters an atmosphere of safety and security.
We have a convenient process for parents to participate in the service hour program. All parents must complete a one-time online application. The link for the application is located on our Franklin website on the “For Parents” page; select Service Hours. Once enrolled you are able to access the service hour opportunities, sign up to participate and track your hours on our volunteer portal.
At the conclusion of each quarter we calculate each families’ completed service hours and post the totals in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
