What is Cannabis?

Cannabis, (also known as dope, pot, cush, weed, marijuana or Mary Jane) is an illegal drug. Cannabis smoke is very similar to tobacco smoke and can therefore cause lung cancer. Cannabis is a depressant drug and may induce psychosis in some people. The drug can also be used for medicinal purposes.
