Jesus' Baptism
In the pictures below how do you think these parents feel about their kids? How do you think your parents felt about you when you were born?
How do you know this?
You probably see pictures of you having fun, your parents may have told you or someone else may have told you about the fun times you've had.
I know that your parents are very happy and pleased that you are their children.
When Jesus was baptized the sky opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus; a voice from heaven announced that God was pleased and said that Jesus was God's Son.
There was a time in your life when you were made a child of God. When you were baptized, Jesus sent his Holy Spirit to you, and you became God's child. When this happened, God was very happy. Baptism helps us to continue to live in ways that are pleasing to God.
What are some of the things you and your family do that are pleasing to God?
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
There is also a printable version of the prayer below
Symbols of the Holy Spirit
Dove
Since we can't physically see the Holy Spirit like we can Jesus in pictures and images, God has given us symbols of the Holy Spirit.
Look at the pictures below and find the symbol of the Holy Spirit in them.
Go to pg. 83 in your activity book and make the Holy Spirit mobile
GIVE US THIS DAY
What are some ways parents take care of their children?
Ask your Mom and Dad why they do this for their children.
God is our loving Father, and He also gives us what we need because He wants what's best for us. Because we are His children, we can go to Him in prayer and ask Him to give us those things we need.
Remember that God only gives us what is good for us, and that He listens to us when we ask Him for what we truly need to become holy.
Complete the Give Us This Day activity on pg. 71 in the A Family of Faith activity book.
