Last Week's Tragedy
Last week was a difficult one for our students, our staff, and our community. Our students, especially our 5th graders, made it through Friday under the guidance of our teachers and counselor, who did all they could to keep the day normal. We extend, as a school and as a community, our prayers and our thoughts to the Caymol family. It is a beautiful thing to see a community pull together.
Many community members have asked how they can assist the Caymol family in response to last week's tragedy. No specific requests have been made, save for prayers. There is a GoFundMe campaign which has been set up for the family. Should you wish to contribute any amount please use the following link. https://www.gofundme.com/s5d8kgfg
There will be several ways in which we will remember Drew at Level Creek. The dates and times have not been set at this point. These will be held after school hours and we will certainly make you aware in advance.
Thank you for being such a caring and supportive community.
GA Milestone Assessment Results
We are also reviewing changes to our visitor policy. We plan on keeping both the Front Office and downstairs Welcome Desk open. We will be reviewing possible changes with the LCES Safety Team, School Council, PTA, and the Suwanee PD before we implement them.
If you have questions, please call the front office. Thank you for your understanding of these changes as we work to keep our students safe.
Media Center Changes
In addition to classrooms, our Media Center technology has been retrofit. Our Level Creek PTA is updating additional technology and furniture. As a result, several projects will change the look of our Media Center in the coming weeks. We want you to know that the Media Center will remain open for students during this time.
We are excited about the new look of our Media Center and will hold an open house for parents and students upon completion. Thank you to parents and our PTA for the fundraiser which makes much of this possible and to the voters for voting YES for SPLOST which funds the technology retrofit!
