Focus On Learning
Room Transformation: 4th Grade Reading teachers transformed their classrooms into a Reading Cafe. Students participated in a Book Tasting. At each table they read a different type of book and determined the author's purpose, or reason for writing the book. (PIE: Persuade, Inform or Entertain) At one table they also indulged in a slice of pie, to help them make their learning memorable.
Science Teachers created hands on learning opportunities while learning about mixtures and solutions. Students used their favorite snacks to create a trail mix, mixture and also learned about solubility by making their own flavored water solution. See if your student can describe the difference between a mixture and a solution?

Attendance Matters
Texas law requires students to be present at least 90% of the academic year.
Each grade level at CES has a structured day with purposeful instruction occurring from the first minute of the day until the last. Please help ensure your child arrives to school on time, and avoid picking up your child early from school if at all possible.
